Sideways
This film is about two old college friends who, before Jack (Thomas Haden-Church) gets married, is taken away for a final send off by very plain Miles (Paul Giamatti) to enjoy some nice wine, great food and a bit of golf but unbeknown to Miles Jack wants to get laid one last time before he takes the vows! So he meets Stephanie (Sandra Oh) and together with Maya (Virginia Madsen) life seems sweet again but trouble ensues when Miles lets slip that Jack is getting married on Saturday!!
Sideways is a warm, funny and beautiful film of discovery and of fragile but essential friendships needed to help us get on with the rest of life's challenges. Sideways is extremely well written, scored and acted by it's four leads and you certainly don't have to be an expert in wine to enjoy this film.
Uncork (sorry!) this great film again or for the first time and you'll be thankful you did.
